The ST60 Wireless Components

Transmitter
The base sensor for measuring wind direction and speed is screwed directly onto the transmitter.
As soon as the battery is in place, the transmitter starts the periodic interrogation of the sensor and transmits the information to the receiver.

Receiver
The receiver receives measurement information sent by the transmitter and converts the signal such that the ST60-Wind wind speed/direction indicator is supplied with exactly the same signal it would receive if it were connected to the sensor by cable.

The Transmitter Battery, Energy Management
A lithium battery with a very high energy density has been used both for simplicity of use and in order to ensure operation within the extreme temperature ranges -30°C...+70°C . This kind of battery can be stored for up to 10 years (with an expected rate of loss of only 1% per annum).
You do not need a battery charger. After the battery has been inserted the receiver is ready to operate straight away.

Warning: the battery is NOT rechargeable and you should NEVER attempt o recharge it

Extended Temperature Range:
The battery's suppliers claim that even a temperature range of -40°C...+85°C both for storage and for use, will not damage the battery.
